Base64 Encoder and Decoder
Encode UTF-8 text as standard Base64 or decode Base64 back into text. Conversion happens locally in your browser.
Converts UTF-8 text in your browser. Base64 is an encoding, not encryption; your text is not uploaded.
How to encode and decode Base64 text
Choose Encode text or Decode Base64. Paste or type UTF-8 text to see the result, then use Copy result if needed. The decoder accepts standard padded Base64 and ignores whitespace. It reports an error when the input is malformed or does not decode to valid UTF-8 text.
Base64 is not encryption
Base64 represents bytes using a text alphabet; it does not hide or protect information. Anyone can decode Base64, so do not use it to secure passwords, private keys or other sensitive data.
Encode HTML special characters with the HTML Entity Converter, or create random identifiers with the UUID v4 Generator. Generate a text digest with the SHA-2 Hash Generator.
