Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin formulas
- Celsius to Fahrenheit: multiply °C by 9/5, then add 32. For example, 20°C = 68°F.
- Fahrenheit to Celsius: subtract 32 from °F, then multiply by 5/9. For example, 68°F = 20°C.
- Celsius to Kelvin: add 273.15. For example, 0°C = 273.15 K.
- Kelvin to Celsius: subtract 273.15. Kelvin is written without a degree symbol.
What is absolute zero?
Absolute zero is 0 K, equal to −273.15°C or −459.67°F. It is the lower limit for thermodynamic temperature, so the converter flags values below it as invalid.
