How to calculate sales tax
Enter a price before tax and a rate from 0% to 100%. The calculator displays the tax amount and adds it to the original price to find the total. All values use the same currency units; no currency conversion is applied.
Sales tax formula
Tax is calculated as price before tax × tax rate ÷ 100. Add the tax to the pre-tax price to get the total. For example, a rate of 8% on 100 results in 8 tax and a total of 108.
